Members of the Recovery Gathering

A Fun Day is being organised for the 10th October in the Walker Hall, Troon. The event will take place 10am-3pm.  All are welcome.  Please let Lesley know if you would like to come along and join us.

The next ARN meeting will be held on August 20th 2008. The meeting will be held at Greenwood Resource Centre, Dreghorn, starting at 1.30 pm.

MISSION STATEMENT

The Ayrshire Recovery Network is an all inclusive group which exists to nurture an understanding of life, promote positive mental well-being and support recovery from mental ill-health across Ayrshire & Arran.

AIMS

We are working to Recovery through:

  •   Education
  • - Raise Awareness that people can and do recover from mental health problems.

  •   Research
  • - Gather and assess evidence to inform what helps and hinders people in their recovery.
    - Develop an Ayrshire recovery database.

  •   Stories Of Recovery
  • - Build capacity with individuals and groups for sharing information, experience and hope.

  •   Influence
  • - Highlight and support good holistic practice.

  •   Support
  • - Develop Peer Support.

  •   Inclusion
  • - Work towards inclusion for all.

     

     

    Objectives

    • To gather and share people’s experience of mental illness AND their stories of Recovery.
    • To ensure there is a programme of Recovery Awareness sessions across Ayrshire.
    • To work alongside mental health practitioners and other relevant agencies.
    • To liaise with the Leadership for Change programme.
    • To support and share information with families, carers and friends.
    • To utilise the media in order to raise awareness of mental health and the fact that people can and do recover from mental illness.
    • To engage with the National Peer Support Programme.
    • To develop and maintain a website.
    • To listen to people and to evaluate change.
